I Dipped a Toe in Moonlight / D. Jeanne Wilson

I dipped a toe in moonlight, testing.
Finding it to my liking,
I let cool light bathe bare feet,
let it lure me deep into
its luminescence, still deeper, until
I was immersed in celestial beams.
I swam, splashed, dived
in that light of mystery until
some alchemy of the cosmos
changed me to moonlight.
Floating, buoyed by moonglow,
I drifted toward a star.
